Choosing To Find Your Inner Strength During Pregnancy

01/17/2023

This letter was written with a close friend in mind. One who I have waited years to watch have the chance to become a mom and experience all-the-things. In my wish for her to experience it all, I also wanted to share the lessons I learned in my 3 pregnancy journeys to prepare her as any good friend would. Today, I share it with you too.

Hey friend,

I know that everyone has been telling you all sorts of stories about labor and childbirth. I know you are scared. I saw your face. The deep breaths you took mimicking how you feel breathing in labor will be. How big your eyes were when we mentioned your first time peeing after delivery.

I get it. You don't know what to expect. You feel out of control. But I am here to tell you a different story.

A story I didn't know when I was pregnant with my first. I didn't know how to prepare. What to do. Out of panic I read a few books on natural labor a week before I delivered because someone told me about not being able to get an epidural.

But I met an incredible group of women. I found out the truth. I am so thankful that I did. It was truly a blessing. I want to share that truth with you. I don't want you to view childbirth with fear.

Childbirth awakens the inner being within you.

There is magic inside of you.

Something no one has ever told you about.

Oh, my friend. You are about to go on the greatest journey of your life.

The most rewarding.

Tears will fall from your face and you will not be able to remember what life was like without this new intense love you feel.

Your strength.

Your power.

Your mama bear protection.

A new you is about to be born and I am so excited for you.

Childbirth is the greatest opportunity of your life. Nothing can describe the endorphins, the rush, the spiritual love that overcomes the experience.

Look at birthing like the greatest physical achievement of your life.

You should train for it.

Prepare for it mentally and physically. Be informed to make the best decisions for yourself.

Every single pregnancy and birth is different. Each has it's own story.

But if you choose...it can be one of the best stories of your life.

Not many mamas can say that unfortunately. The world leaves us in the dark. What a way to suppress the ultimate power that a woman holds. To cause her to doubt herself. To stay small. To not understand that your body knows EXACTLY what to do each step of the way.

Your baby was made to fit through your body.

God doesn't make mistakes.

He makes miracles.

Along with your faith. Your trust. Your support team. You can physically birth a baby without ever intentionally pushing. Your body will push for you. Instincts and intuition take over when you get to the final stretch.

You go within yourself.

For some, you go outside of yourself. An out of body experience where your soul is literally looking down on your body, comforting you along the way. It is a peaceful experience, a spiritual one in a way never expected.

The world doesn't share this with you.

Yet this can be yours.

Preparing your body to do what it was created to do.

Allowing your body to be balanced- muscles, joints, ligaments- all in alignment so your baby can move to where it needs to be. It takes dedicated time. It takes commitment to want to birth this way. It takes being willing to stand up when society tells you to sit down and do it their way.

You are strong.

You are capable.

There is so much opportunity ahead of you.

Fear is for those who do not know. Fear is for those who have never been told the secrets of childbirth. Left to deal with trauma, as I did with my first birth. So many moms expecting their second seek out the secrets. Instinctively knowing there must be another way. Knowing the truth is there if they look for it.

Embrace the opportunity for the greatest achievement of your life.

Step into your power.

Trust your body.

Keep up all that you are doing, you are doing great.

If you want the daily essential exercise checklist, I am sharing it here.

These are the things that helped me to be 4cm dilated a week before delivery...for all 3 babies. I was almost half way there before contractions ever started. All because I was able to balance my body.

Choose to find your inner strength.

You won't regret it.

Hugs and high fives,

Shari
