[00:00:00] Hey, this video we are going to talk about, does exercise make your back pain worse? I am Dr. Shari Miller, orthopedic physical Therapist, and let's dive in. So back pain and exercise is a fabulous question. Obviously if you're here, you're curious, you probably have some aching, some tightness, some tension. If you have pain going down the leg, pain that goes like a burning, tingling zinging, that's gonna be a little bit different response.
You're gonna wanna look for my sciatica videos on that. That's a little bit different than this like dull ache. Sometimes you get a sharp, tense pain. Those are going to be. What I want you to focus on with exercise and low back pain is small amount is your goal. Obviously, if you have higher pain levels and you're at those high thresholds, you are just going to want some simple, repetitive [00:01:00] movements to help ease up those pains.
If, however, you have just that low level like dull, , you can sometimes use some weight and be okay, but the number one answer to does exercise help? Low back pain is yes. That is phenomenal. Exercise and movement are your friend. Rest is not your friend. Resting is one of the worst things you can honestly do for back pain.
I want you to stay active and moving and feeling good, so movement is key and I hope that you get feeling better soon.So number one key is exercise is one of the best things you can do for your body when you have back pain.
